Custom live edge burl bowls
The client dropped off a piece of burl that they had held onto for years and asked if I would be able to make something out of it. I agreed to take it on.
I did explain, that with burls you never know, sometimes they are hollow, sometimes there is too much bark inclusion, sometimes they are gorgeous. This one turned out to be gorgeous.

After a careful inspection, I decided to cut it length wise and that should give me enough wood to make 2 live edge bowls around 8" in diameter.
Luckily, they were solid on the inside! They did have some really deep cracks running through them.
So from here it's onto the lathe to turn them:
